Works Fully Offline
ScoreSaver doesn't need internet. Log scores at the range even with no signal — everything is saved instantly on your device.
Save Your Default Location
Set your home range as the default location in Settings so it's pre-filled every time you start a new match entry.
Use the Calculator
For complex matches like Rapid Fire or Standard Pistol, use the built-in series calculator — enter each series and ScoreSaver totals them automatically.
Check Your Charts Regularly
Visit the History screen to see your score trend, average, and best across all entries for a given match type. Useful for identifying plateaus and improvements.
Enable Face ID Lock
If you share your phone or want your scores kept private, enable the app lock in Settings — unlocks instantly with Face ID or your Passcode.
Back Up Your Device
Enable iCloud backup in iOS Settings to protect your match history. ScoreSaver data is included in standard device backups.
Check Your Coaching Tab
After logging a few scores, open the Coaching tab to see your trend chart, grade progress bar, priority coaching tips for your level, and the full ISSF coaching library — all in one place.
Browse the Coaching Library
Tap Full Coaching Library at the bottom of the Coaching tab to browse all 10 ISSF topic areas at any time — even without match data. Filter by topic to focus on what you're working on.

Which match types are supported?
ScoreSaver supports: 10m Air Pistol (Men's, Women's & Juniors), 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Centre-Fire Pistol, 25m Pistol (Women's & Junior), and 50m Pistol. Grade break tables are included for each discipline.
How are grades calculated?
Grade breaks are based on current ISSF and national federation tables packaged with the app. When you save a score, ScoreSaver compares it against the relevant grade break table and shows your current grade. If you've crossed a grade boundary, you'll receive an alert.
How does the Personal Best alert work?
Each time you save a score, ScoreSaver checks it against your best score for that specific match type. If it's a new PB, you'll see an alert celebrating the achievement. Your PB is tracked separately per match discipline.
Is my data private?
Yes. All match data is stored on your device only using Apple's SwiftData. The app does not connect to the internet and has no analytics or tracking. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I set up Face ID / Passcode lock?
Go to Settings within ScoreSaver and enable App Lock. You'll be prompted to create a username and password — these are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. Once set up, you can unlock with Face ID for quick access.
How do I back up or transfer my scores to a new phone?
Use device-to-device transfer when setting up a new iPhone, or restore from an encrypted iCloud or computer backup. ScoreSaver's SwiftData store is included in standard iOS backups.
Can I edit or delete a match record?
Yes. In the History screen, tap on any entry to view it and use the Edit or Delete option. Deleted records cannot be recovered unless you restore from a backup.
The keyboard is hiding the buttons — what do I do?
Tap outside any text field to dismiss the keyboard, or use the Done button in the keyboard toolbar. On the calculator screen, use Prev / Next to move between fields without dismissing the keyboard.
I deleted the app — can I get my scores back?
Deleting the app removes all local data. If you had an iCloud or computer backup made before deletion, you may be able to restore your device to recover the data. There is no cloud server from which we can recover data.
What is the Coaching & Analytics tab?
The Coaching tab combines your score performance data with ISSF-based coaching guidance. It shows: a score trend chart for your selected match type and category; a performance summary (best, average, recent average, consistency rating); a grade progress bar showing how many points to your next grade; priority coaching tips matched to your current grade level; and access to the full Coaching Library. Once you have at least two scores logged for a match type, coaching data populates automatically.
What is the Coaching Library?
The Coaching Library is a built-in reference covering 10 ISSF pistol shooting topics: Stance & Natural Point of Aim, Grip, Sight Alignment, Trigger Control, Breathing, Follow-Through, Mental Performance, Building Consistency, Training Drills, and Equipment & Setup. Each topic contains multiple coaching tips with detailed guidance. The library is available offline and doesn't require match data to browse. Tap Full Coaching Library at the bottom of the Coaching tab to open it.
What is AI Coaching and how do I set it up?
AI Coaching uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalised feedback based on your actual match data. To use it: (1) get a Claude API key from console.anthropic.com — you can access Claude through a free trial; (2) go to Settings in ScoreSaver and paste your Claude API key; (3) open the Coaching tab and tap Get AI Coaching. ScoreSaver sends your match history and performance statistics to Claude and displays the response in the app. Your data is sent directly to Anthropic's API and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
How are the coaching tips chosen?
Priority coaching tips on the Coaching tab are automatically selected based on your current grade and match type. Grade D (beginner) tips focus on foundations like stance and grip; Grade B/C tips address consistency and trigger control; Grade A and Master tips focus on mental performance, fine-tuning, and competition preparation. The selection changes automatically as your grade improves.
What is the Consistency Rating?
The Consistency Rating measures your score standard deviation across all logged sessions for a match type. A lower standard deviation means more consistent performance. Ratings are: Elite (SD < 4), Strong (SD 4–8), Developing (SD 8–15), and Inconsistent (SD > 15). Improving consistency is as important as raising your average — it's tracked separately alongside your trend chart.
What iOS version is required?
ScoreSaver requires iOS 17.0 or later. This enables SwiftData for fast, reliable on-device storage and Swift Charts for performance visualisation.
