Which disciplines are covered?
ISSF Rule Check covers all 6 ISSF pistol disciplines: 10m Air Pistol (Men's, Women's & Junior), 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, 25m Pistol (Women's & Junior), 25m Standard Pistol, 25m Centre-Fire Pistol, and 50m Pistol. All rule data is sourced from the 2026 ISSF Technical Rules.
How current is the rule data?
The equipment specifications, course of fire timings, and grade break tables are based on the 2026 ISSF Technical Rules. When rules change, updates are released through the App Store. Always verify critical rule details against the official ISSF rulebook for competition use.
What are the hot-button tabs for?
Each discipline view has two prominent buttons near the top โ Equipment Specs and Course of Fire. Tapping either button scrolls directly to that section, saving time when you need quick access to equipment requirements or timing details at the range.
Can I use ISSF Rule Check during a competition?
Yes. The app works entirely offline so it is suitable for use at the range. However, ISSF Rule Check is a reference guide โ for official decisions at a competition, always consult the current printed ISSF Technical Rules and a qualified jury member.
How does the role picker work?
The role picker in the discipline list sidebar lets you switch between Shooter, Range Officer, and Jury. When you change role, the checklist card inside each discipline view updates automatically to show the relevant items for that role.
Does the app support iPad?
Yes. ISSF Rule Check is a universal app supporting both iPhone and iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17.0 or later. On iPad it uses a native NavigationSplitView layout with a discipline list on the left and full rule detail on the right.
Are my notes and bookmarks private?
Yes. All personal notes and bookmarks are stored locally on your device. The app does not connect to the internet or any server. See the

How do I back up my notes and bookmarks?
Enable iCloud backup in iOS/iPadOS Settings. ISSF Rule Check data (notes and bookmarks) is included in standard device backups. Use device-to-device transfer when moving to a new iPhone or iPad.
What iOS version is required?
ISSF Rule Check requires iOS 17.0 or iPadOS 17.0 or later on any compatible iPhone or iPad.
Is ISSF Rule Check affiliated with ISSF or Pistol Australia?
No. ISSF Rule Check is an independent reference app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) or Pistol Australia. ISSF is a registered trademark of the International Shooting Sport Federation.
