🔒 Short version: ShoppingShareList stores your lists, pantry, photos, and price history on your device. We collect no personal information and operate no servers. A list leaves your device only when you choose to share it.
Information We Collect
ShoppingShareList does not collect any personal information. There is no account and no sign-in. All the data you create — lists, pantry items, photos, prices, and stores — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is never transmitted to any Abdelcaro server.
Data We Store On Your Device
- Your shopping lists and the items on them
- Your pantry catalogue (remembered items, categories, and purchase counts)
- Photos you attach to items
- Price records and the stores associated with them
- App settings and preferences
All of the above is stored locally on your device and is protected by iOS app sandboxing and device encryption.
Sharing a List
When you tap Share, ShoppingShareList encodes the selected list directly into a share link and hands it to the share sheet (for example, Messages). The list travels inside the link itself — it is not uploaded to or stored on any Abdelcaro server. Once you send it, the recipient and the messaging app you used handle the message according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Device Permissions
ShoppingShareList may ask for the following permissions. Each is optional, used only for the stated purpose, and the resulting data stays on your device:
- Photo Library — so you can attach a picture from your library to a shopping item.
- Camera — so you can take a picture of a shopping item.
- Location (When In Use) — so you can optionally record the current store location for an item or price.
You can decline any of these and continue using the app. Photos and location data are stored locally and are never uploaded.
Third-Party Services
ShoppingShareList uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking frameworks. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google, Firebase, or any other third party embedded in the app.
iCloud Backups
If you enable iCloud backup on your device, your app data may be included in those backups as part of standard iOS behaviour. This is controlled entirely by your iCloud settings.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual items, lists, photos, and price records at any time within the app. Deleting ShoppingShareList from your device permanently removes all locally stored data, including your lists, pantry, photos, and price history.
Children's Privacy
ShoppingShareList is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information from users of any age.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note changes in the App Store release notes.
