Tips for Getting the Most Out of ShoppingShareList

๐Ÿงบ
Let Your Pantry Grow

Every item you add is saved to your pantry. The more you shop, the faster adding items becomes โ€” just tap a remembered item to add it again.

๐Ÿ“ค

Tap Share on any list to send it through Messages. Whoever receives it can open the full list โ€” even with no signal.

๐Ÿ’ฒ
Record Prices & Stores

Add the price and store when you buy something to build a price history and see where each item is cheapest.

๐Ÿ“ท
Add a Photo

Attach a photo from your library or take one with the camera so there's no confusion about which exact product you need.

๐Ÿ“‹
Use Several Lists

Keep separate lists for groceries, the BBQ, hardware, or anything else. Organise items by To Get, In Cart, and Purchased.

๐Ÿ“
Track Store Locations

Manage the stores you shop at in the Stores tab and tie prices to them for accurate price history.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I share a list?
Open a list and tap the Share button. ShoppingShareList creates a self-contained share link and hands it to Messages (or any share target you choose). The person who receives it can open the whole list โ€” no account required.
Does sharing work offline?
Yes. The shared link contains the list itself, so it works fully offline once it arrives. There's no server in the middle โ€” the list is encoded directly into the link.
What is the pantry?
The pantry is your personal catalogue of everything you've ever added. When you add an item you've bought before, the app reuses that entry โ€” keeping its photo, category, store, price history, and purchase count. It's what makes your lists faster over time.
Do I need an account?
No. You can start using ShoppingShareList straight away โ€” there's no sign-up. Your lists and pantry are stored on your device.
Why does the app ask for photo, camera, or location access?
These are all optional. The photo library and camera let you attach a picture to a shopping item, and location can be used to record the current store for an item or price. You can decline any of these and still use the app fully. None of this data is uploaded โ€” it stays on your device.
Are my lists private?
Yes. Your lists, pantry, photos, and price history are stored on your device. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share and choose to send a list. See the full Privacy Policy.
How do I back up my data?
Enable iCloud backup in iOS Settings. ShoppingShareList's local data is included in standard device backups, so it can be restored if you move to a new iPhone or iPad.
What devices and iOS version are required?
ShoppingShareList runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.0 or later. It is built with SwiftUI and SwiftData.
