🔒 Short version: TechnicTracker stores your collection data exclusively on your device. We collect no personal information and operate no servers. The only external network requests the app makes are to the Rebrickable API — which you initiate — to sync set catalogue data.
Information We Collect
TechnicTracker does not collect any personal information. All data you enter into the app — your collection, wishlist, and notes — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework and never transmitted to any Abdelcaro server.
Data We Store On Your Device
- LEGO® Technic set catalogue data (synced from Rebrickable on your request)
- Your owned set list and wishlist
- Notes you attach to individual sets
- App settings (API key, last sync date, theme preferences)
- Cached set images and parts data (stored in the on-device file cache)
All of the above is stored locally on your device and is protected by iOS's app sandboxing and device encryption.
Rebrickable API
TechnicTracker connects to the Rebrickable API (rebrickable.com) to download the LEGO Technic set catalogue, set images, and parts lists. This connection is made only when you initiate a sync or load parts data for a specific set. Your Rebrickable API key is stored locally on your device and is sent to Rebrickable's servers as an authentication header when making API requests.
Please refer to Rebrickable's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle API requests. TechnicTracker sends only the minimum data necessary: the API key and the requested query parameters.
Third-Party Services
TechnicTracker uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking frameworks. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google, Firebase, or any other third party embedded in the app beyond the Rebrickable API client (which makes HTTP requests on your behalf).
iCloud Backups
If you enable iCloud backup on your device, your app data may be included in those backups as part of standard iOS behaviour. This is controlled entirely by your iCloud settings. TechnicTracker does not initiate or control iCloud sync — it only uses Apple's SwiftData for local storage.
Data Deletion
You can remove individual sets from your collection or wishlist at any time within the app. Deleting TechnicTracker from your device permanently removes all locally stored data, including your collection, wishlist, notes, and cached images.
Children's Privacy
TechnicTracker is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information from users of any age. Parental controls are not required to use the app safely.
Legal
LEGO® and LEGO Technic® are registered trademarks of the LEGO Group. TechnicTracker is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the LEGO Group. Set data is sourced from Rebrickable under their API terms of service.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note changes in the App Store release notes.
